UXBRIDGE Charlotte L. (Adams) Duvernay, 91, died Sun. June 6, 2010 at St. Camillus Health Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past 3 years. Her husband of 49 years, Armand H. Duvernay died on Jan. 27, 1998.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Gina (Procaccianti) Abraham of Uxbridge; great granddaughter, Kristen LeBlanc of Uxbridge; daughter, Crystal Sepe [passed month after mother, on July 17, 2010] of Providence, R.I.; 2 nephews, Ernest and Rusty Adams and a niece, Diane Cortis. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers, Ernest and Bernard Adams.
Born in Uxbridge on Jan. 7, 1919, she was the daughter of Ernest and Grace (Patterson) Adams and has lived in Uxbridge all of her life. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High School. Mrs. Duvernay worked for the former Whitin Machine Works for 20 years, Amperex Electronics in Slatersville, R.I. for 6 months and was a school bus monitor in Uxbridge. At the age of 61, Charlotte returned back to school at Blackstone Valley Tech, where she learned a new trade in the electronic field. She was the oldest student in her class, but was the first to secure a job at the Fenwal Corp. in Framingham.
Charlotte frequently enjoyed traveling with her husband in their camper, loved singing and always had a way of cheering up someone that was having a bad day. She was a former member of the North Uxbridge Baptist Church.
Her memorial funeral service will be held on Thur. June 17, at 7pm in St. Camillus Chapel, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Camillus Activity Fund, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA 01588. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of her family. Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge.
