Hortense- Anna Belle Wainright, 91, of Hortense died early Friday morning (September 23, 2011) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Hortense, GA her parents were Levy J. and Beatrice Strickland Strickland. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Wainright.
Anna Belle was a lifetime residence of Brantley County and a homemaker. She was a follower of Jesus Christ, an over comer, always put God first, then her family, her home and her Bible study. Also she looked forward to the Bible study group each week.
Larry and sissy were her care givers for the past 12 years at the home place. Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup has given tender and loving care with an out pouring of compassion for 3 years, 1 month, and 9 days and have become part of our family. Carrie Hardee, a private sitter has given her love, affection, excellent care for the past 3 ½ months. We will always be indebted to Hospice of South Georgia of Jesup and Carrie Hardee for their services and care given to her.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Paxton & Linda Wainright of Tallalah, LA and James Larry & Sissy Wainright of Hortense; 6 grandchildren, Greg Wainright, Karen Babel(Dave), Drew Wainright (Jessica), Marcelle Stiff (Keith), Tonia Rowell (Andy) and Cody Wainright; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Laverne S. & Ellis L. Whittington; her little girl, Frances Saddler Meneely (Jack) of Americus, GA; 3 nieces, Kathy Coarsey, Nancy Greene and Vivian Stern; and also several other relatives.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon (September 25, 2011) from 2-3PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (September 25, 2011) at 3PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Yawn officiating.
Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup, GA.
