Okey Perry Brown, 74, of 812 23rd St., Vienna, died Monday morning at his residence after an extended illness.

Born at Pee Wee, Wirt County, he was a son of the late Augustus and Dora Balderson Brown. He was a member of the Summitt Valley United Methodist Church, as retired from John Manville Corp. with 25 years of service and was a member of the 25 Century Club.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Verna McVey Brown; one son, Larry Brown of Vienna; two daughters, Mrs. Bud (Myrtle) Roberts of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Paul (Helen) Somerville of Palestine; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. William P. Snider officiating. Burial will be in the Center Valley Cemetery in Wirt County.

Friends may call at the funeral home today 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and until the service time on Thursday.
