Della Lucinda Wilson was born December 3, 1866 and died at Chelsea, Iowa on April 9, 1903, aged 36 years, 4 months and 6 days. She was united in marriage to David W. Boyer August 16, 1887; to them were born eight children, two of whom, Florence Merle and Edward Louis, died in infancy. The remaining six children are Cecil W.; Raymond D.; Mary Elizabeth; B. W.; Leo L. L.; and Doretha J. She was the youngest daughter of Col. And Mrs. B. W. Wilson and leaves behind her husband, and children, an aged father and mother, six brothers and two sisters and numerous friends and other relatives and friends to mourn her untimely death.

Out of this family of father, mother and nine children she, in the bloom of womanhood and in the prime of her life was the first to be cut down, and thus one link in the chain is broken. In June 1884, during the pastorate of the Rev. H. C. Stuntz, she was converted and gave her heart to God. Soon after she was taken in the Methodist Episcopal church at Rector on probation and was Baptized by Rev. Milner of Belle Plaine, the following September. Of her it can truthfully be said she was a faithful wife, a loving Christian mother and like Mary of old. "She hath done what she could."

She with her husband and children left Iowa for Colorado October 15, 1902, in hopes that the change would restore her health, but all In vain; the dread disease consumption bad fastened its fangs too firmly to be released and on the last day of March her faithful husband brought her back to die in her father's house. Lingering but ten days after her sad home coming her spirit was at last released and returned to him who gave it. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev B. A. Davis. Interment at the Veit cemetery by her two children.
