Alta L. Alsbaugh, 99, Jefferson Manor Health Center, Brookville, formerly of Route 322, Reynoldsville, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the manor.
Born June 26, 1912, in Reynoldsville, she was a daughter of the late Glenn L. and Ada Mowrey Schuckers. She was married to Vincent G. Alsbaugh Nov. 30, 1939, in Reynoldsville. He preceded her in death June 12, 1981.
She was a homemaker, a caregiver and a nurse's aide at Brookville Hospital. She also worked with her husband on the family's dairy farm.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by three daughters: Cynthia P. (Tom) Evans, O'Fallon, Mo., Hollis E. Alsbaugh, Suisun City, Calif., and Gwen A. Sheldon, Reynoldsville; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Glenda Alsbaugh; five brothers: Howard, Bernard, Blair, Hammond and Keith Schuckers; and one sister, Sarah McKinley.
Friends were received Tuesday at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. A funeral service was held Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Leo C. Cramer officiating. Burial was in Emerickville Lutheran Cemetery, Pinecreek Township, Jefferson County. Memorial donations may be made to DuBois Regional Medical Center Hospice, P.O. Box 447, DuBois, PA 15801.
