The following death notice appeared in the Carthage, Missouri, newspaper on August 23, 1949:
"Death of Mrs. Ida M. Martin
"Carthage Woman, 82, Passes Away in Convalescent Home
"Mrs. Ida M. Martin, 82, widow of J.M. Martin, passed away at 3:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Chaney convalescent home, 316 South Fulton, where she had been a patient since last Wednesday. Mrs. Martin's home was at 501 East Sixth street.
"She was born July 3, 1867, in Barbour county, West Virginia. Surviving are two nephews, Ed Zinn of route 4 and Vesker Zinn of Wichita, and a niece, Mrs. Hubb Mathews of Reeds route 1.
"The body was moved to the Ulmer funeral home."
The following funeral notice appeared separately:
"Rites for Mrs. Ida Martin
"Services Tomorrow Afternoon at the Ulmer Funeral Home
"Funeral services for Mrs. Ida M. Martin, who died Monday at the Chaney convalescent home, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Ulmer funeral home. Mrs. Martin's home was at 501 East Sixth. W.M. Pyle of Webb City will conduct the service. Burial will be in Central Union cemetery, south of Stotts City."
