Ned moved to the Clear Lake area when he was a small boy. He was a painter and decorator by trade but in his later years was a real estate dealer. He was first married to Bernice Fell in 1897. He was a widow when he married Clara Loretta Kennedy on May 2, 1918. Ned's survivors included his wife Clara; two daughters; five grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter and a brother Walter.
