Nancy was the first wife of William Shearer. They were married Mar 4, 1852 at Nodaway County, Missouri. They then moved to Iowa where they had 5 sons between 1853-1863: Marion, Jacob, Thomas, David and William. The family arrived in Oregon from Iowa in 1864 and in 1865 came to the Dilley area where they purchased property on the Horace Parsons donation land claim. Nancy died here that same year.
