Dorothy M. Carviou, 98, passed away on Monday, July 31st, 2017, at the Luther Home in Marinette. She was born on April 24th, 1919, in Marinette to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Van Listout) Schultz. Dorothy married Lester J. Carviou on December 29th, 1937. Dorothy was a lifelong member of SS Joseph and Edward Church in Walsh. She was a wonderful homemaker, seamstress and gardener. Dorothy loved playing cards and will be missed by her smear card playing friends at the Luther Home. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed any time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by two sons: James (Gladys) Carviou and Edward (Linda) Carviou, both of Porterfield; five daughters: Sally (John) Biehl of Porterfield, Rosemary Carviou of Marinette, Linda Bayerl of Porterfield, Mary Carviou (Rich) of Little Suamico, and Margie (Bill) Turner of Escondido, Cali.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester, on June 25th, 1999; son-in-law, James Bayerl, grandson, Shawn Drennen; granddaughter, Heidi Zey; four brothers: Wilmer, Carl, Edward and Alfred; and four sisters: Clara Dzurick, Edna Walters, Mary Schultz and Lucille Charapata. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, August 3rd, at SS Joseph and Edward Church in Walsh (W3308 Cty Rd G, Porterfield), at 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Walsh. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Luther Home staff and Unity Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care given to our mother.
