THREE SPRINGS - Harry V. Watkins, 89, of HCR 73, died at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 1993, in Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia.

Born February 16, 1904, in Coles Valley, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Lewellyn and Annis Chilcote Watkins.

A coal miner all his life, he had worked in the Broad Top area coal mines.

He was a Protestant.

His first wife, Justina Marie Walker, died March 12, 1931.

Surviving are his wife, Chloe Marks, whom he married December 31, 1946; a daughter, Flora (Mrs. Chester) Parsons of Blairs Mills; a son Daryl V., and a stepdaughter, Violet (Mrs. Edgar) Benson, both of Three Springs; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. The Revs. Joe Miller and Steve Heaster will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, near Three Springs.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
