John J. Cole, 71, of 6 Mulford Gardens, retired sexton of Dayspring Presbyterian Church on Elm and Walnut Streets, died yesterday at St. John's Riverside Hospital after a short illness.
The widower or the former Henrietta Thomas Wicht. He leaves a daughter. Mrs. Peter (Anna May) Mahalik of Cleveland, Ohio; three step-daughters, Mrs. James (Frances) Ingram of Brooklyn, Mrs. Augustine (Margaret) Nieves of the Bronx, and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) McClain of Yonkers: six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
