"Omar W. Rappold, 73, of 136 Greystone, Kansas City, Kansas, died Thursday at Providence-St Margaret Health Center. He was born in Americus, Mo., and had lived in this area since 1950. Mr. Rappold worked for the J.C. Nichols Co., 25 years before he retired in 1972. He was a Methodist. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Pearl Rappold of the home; a son, Gerald D. Rappold of Merriam; a daughter, Mrs. Connie Harshner of Kansas City, Kansas; five brothers, Oscar Rappold of Kansas City, Enoch Rappold of Kansas City, Kansas, Melvin Rappold of Greenbackville, Va., Buell Rappold of Salinas, Calif., and Luther Rappold of Kansas City; a sister, Mrs. Alberta Willingham of Mexico, Mo.; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Maple Hill Chapel; burial in Maple Hill Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, October 10, 1980
