He was born in Minnesota and moved with his family to the Belvidere precinct of Thayer county NE. 'Lige' as he was known, married in Hebron, NE and shortly thereafter moved back to Le Sueur Co. MN. where he was a rural mail carrier for 28 years. He was killed in an auto accident in Fremont, NE in 1938. He was the father of four children.
