Floyd D. Hooker

EVART - Floyd D. Hooker of Evart died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003 at Spectrum Health in Reed City. He was 90.

He was born on April 3, 1913 in Mecosta County to Royal S. Hooker and Laura Denniston. He married Joyce D. Gibson in Evart on Feb. 3, 1950.

Mr. Hooker worked as a welder in the ship-building industry and moved to Evart in 1948. He worked at Evart Products from 1954 until he retired in 1975.

He enjoyed welding, antique engines and fishing.

Survivors include wife, Joyce; daughters, Rita (Al) Solar of Scottville and Lucinda (Bill) Sible of Evart; sons, Scott (Bev) of Evart, Robin and Richard (Nancy), all of Evart; sisters, Florence Eaton of Evart, Corinna Belding of Barryton, Inez Bushee of Sears and Josephine Kitelinger of Evart; step-brother, Charles Hooker of Stanford; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Rev. Russ Atherton of Evart Free Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
