Abraham Dillow served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He joined the 5th West Virginia Infantry on September 2, 1861 at Ceredo, WVa. He served with his unit until his honorable discharge on October 8, 1864 at Wheeling, WVa. Abraham and family settled in Greenup County, Kentucky after his marriage in the mid 1860's. He remained there until he went to Champaign County, Illinois during the 1880's. Abe and his family returned to Kentucky and settled in Lewis County in 1891.
