He served as an Army Major in WWII in the South Pacific for four years.
He was an active member and past president of the Downtown Kiwanis Club, where he was proud of his 53 years of perfect attendance.
He worked for Merck & Company for 35 years. Hugh was an active member of Avondale United Methodist Church and served on numerous committees.
He was a member of the Ponte Vedra Club, The University Club, Club Continental and Timuquana Country Club. He was an avid Gator Fan and member of the Gator Boosters.
Hugh Crosson, Jr. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris; two daughters, Patty Smith (Bryan) and Fran Baker (Ken); four grandchildren: Trey, Leighton, Kyle and Drayton; one great grandchild, Ford.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 22, 11:00 a.m. at the Avondale United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Avondale United Methodist Church, 1651 Talbot Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral arrangements are by the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S.
