B. Tackett, 81, of Sugar Camp, Long Fork of Virgie, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born May 26, 1928, the son of the late Caleb and Annie Caudill Tackett.

He was an overhead crane operator and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maycene Tackett; six brothers, Elza Layne Tackett, Loil Jess Tackett, Jonah Tackett, Claudie Tackett, C.C. Tackett and Pebble Tackett; and three sisters, Mezinia Tackett, Lora Tackett and Arzora Tackett.

He is survived by two daughters, Annie Marie Johnson of Ecorse, Mich., and Lorine Mae Partin of Long Fork; two brothers, Carl Tackett and Billy Gene Tackett; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in the Old Regular Baptist Church of Long Fork with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial followed in the Amil Little Memorial Cemetery, Long Fork, with Greg White officiating.
