ROBERTA FERN PICKETT

Funeral services for Roberta Fern Pickett were conducted on Monday, Jan. 29 at the Vase Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Vernon D. Dockter from the First United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery in Rock Springs.

Pallbearers were W.E. O'Neal, Oscar Alexander, Michael Green, Steve Pickett, Kevin Poor and Guy Green.

Mrs. Pickett, 82, 530 Gobel A13, Rock Springs, died at about 1:25 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 1990, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County where she had been a patient since Jan. 13.

Mrs. Picket was born on May 5, 1907 in Elwood, Neb., the daughter of the late George and Margaret Pickering Brooks. She attended school in Elwood and was a high school graduate of Elwood. She was married to the late Mark Ely Pickett on Feb. 15, 1929, and he preceded her in death in October 1964. Mrs. Pickett taught school in Nebraska for two years before they moved to a homestead near Riverton in 1933. They moved to Laramie in 1953 and in 1963 moved to Rock Springs. Mrs. Pickett was active in the Young at Heart Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Kay Pickett of Bozeman, Mont.; one daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Shirley Green of Rock Springs; one brother, Marvin Brooks of Gothenberg, Neb.; one sister, Nell Brooks of Elwood; four grandchildren, Guy and Michael Green of Rock Springs, Rachel Poor and Steven Pickett of Idaho Falls, Idaho; one great-grandson, Jesse Poor of Idaho Falls and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pickett was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.
