Walter, nicknamed "Red," was the son of William J and Amanda Worley Wilson. William is believed to be buried in Alabama about 1894, and Amanda in Georgia about 1899.

Walter married, first, Sadie Lafoy Blythe on 10 Jan 1887 in Lafayette Co., AL. They had six childrenr: Della Agnes, Mary Ethel, Deola, Dena, William Henry and Olen Cooper. Sadie died in 1905 and is believed to be buried in Texas.

Walter married, second, Jessie Teddlie 2 May, 1906 in Wood Co., TX. They had five children together.

1910 Census lists the family in Cottle Co., TX. Walter is 40 and Jessee is 34. Four of Walter's children from his first marriage are listed as are two very young children, Gertrude, 3 and Elbert, 1. Two step-children are listed.

1930 Census puts the family living in Dalhart, Dallam Co., TX. They rent their farm for $15.00/month. Also living in the home are four children, Elbert, 20; Fenton, 18; Jewell, 15 and Lena, 13.

1940 Census for Wichita Co., TX shows a W.T. Wilson, 68, as a patient at the Wichita Falls State Hospital. The listing indicates his birthplace as Alabama and that he is married.

Death occurred 11 Mar 1943. His death notice indicates he had been senile for about 20 years. So sad.
