Mrs. Fletcher was born in Bulloch County on April 22, 1932. Ruth Helen graduated from the Georgia Teacher's College Laboratory School in Statesboro. She married Francis N. Fletcher of Statesboro and traveled with him throughout his career as an engineer with General Electric Co. until returning to Statesboro in 1965. Mrs. Fletcher opened Four Seasons Florist in 1981 and owned and operated it for many years before selling it to Al Gibson. She continued to work there until her retirement. She was a member of the Civic Garden Club and the Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Johnny and Russell Franklin.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Charles Fowler of Statesboro; two granddaughters and a grandson-in-law, Suzanne and WO-2 Dennis Snyder of Statesboro and Nicole Fowler of Statesboro; three great grandchildren, Alissa Snyder, Tori Snyder and Alex Snyder; four sisters and five brothers-in-law, Milbry Ann and Bill Griner of Ayden, N.C., Linda and Sherwood Boyd of Statesboro, Joyce and Steve Morrison of Savannah, Judy and Brooks Nichols of Statesboro and Gene Fletcher of Statesboro. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Patterson and the Rev. Ron Andrew officiating.
Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Nichols, Joe Grooms, Robbie Morrison, Stevie Morrison and Stephen Morrison.
