STATESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Raymond E. Cassedy, age 63, died Tuesday at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. He was a native and longtime resident of Statesboro. Mr. Cassedy had worked at Brooks Instruments, ITT Grinnell and Robbins Packing Company and served in the National Guard for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Myrtice Cassedy; and his brother, Bennie Earl Cassedy.
Survivors include his daughters, Michelle Mills of Portal and Stephanie (Mike) Smith of Sylvania; his son, Shane Cassedy of Raleigh, N.C.; four brothers and one sister, Tommy Cassedy, Marvin Cassedy, Ricky (Holly) Cassedy, Bonnie Cassedy and Randy Cassedy, all of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Justin Smith, Allie Mills and Ashley Mills; two great-grandchildren, Josh and Aiden; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
