FORMER CHARITON WOMAN VICTIM OF HEART ATTACK

Dr. Frances Matson, a former resident of Chariton, died unexpectedly Tuesday at her home in Humeston. She was found dead by Mrs. Hugh McGhee, a Humeston café waitress.

Dr. Matson had stopped at the café for lunch after making a professional call. When it was served she left it untouched, explaining to Mrs. McGhee that she was ill and must go home. She lived alone, a half block from the café. Later, Mrs. McGhee called to see Miss Matson, and found her dead. A heart attack was the cause, a physician who was immediately summoned, said.

Dr. Matson was a niece of the late Mrs. C. T. Brant of Chariton. Before becoming a chiropractor she was a teacher. Dr. Matson practiced her profession in Humeston for about 18 years.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Dora Barnett, Cambria, Ia.; a niece, Mrs. Charles Dicks, also of Cambria; and a nephew, Matson Barnett, Omaha, Nebr.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Methodist church in Humeston. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
