Bill retired from the former Chattanooga Glass Company in Mount Vernon and was an Air Force veteran. He attended the West Hill Baptist Church in Wooster. Bill enjoyed bluegrass music and watching old western movies.
Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley (Damron) Abrams; children, Nancy (Ernie) Gonzales of Las Vegas, NV, Danny Goulding of Russellville, AR, Ken (Candy) Goulding of Wilmington, Penny (Sam) Cornelius of Sharon, PA, Rick (Georgette) Abrams of Melrose, FL, and Cathie (Steve) Wallace of Mount Vernon; a step daughter, Chris (Tim) Rettig of Wooster; 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Mona) Abrams of Muncie, IN; and a sister, Linda (John) Patterson, Brownsburg, IN.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Nona D. (Twitchell) Abrams on February 23, 2005, and his step father, Roy Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Rd. Mount Vernon, OH, where funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 5, 2011 with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Inurnment will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
