Mrs. Bertha Code, the wife of Joseph L. Code, for several years a resident of this city, died at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, of organic heart trouble, after a very brief illness, at the home of Mrs. Kate Fulton, 156 Third street, and the funeral has been fixed at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, from the Catholic church. Miss Georgia Glidden of Sheridan, a niece of Mrs. Code, and Ed Rohr of Thermopolis, her brother, are expected in the city tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Code was with his wife when she died. Mrs. Code was born at Milwaukee, Wis., forty-five years ago. She was first married to Mr. Smith, and was the mother of two daughters, one of them, Myra, dying here in May, 1899: and the other, Ora, dying in October, 1900. Both are buried here. Mr. Code and Mrs. Smith were married June 25, 1901, and had no children. Mrs. Code was a member both of the Women of Woodcraft, and Royal Neighbors, and members of those organizations will attend the funeral. Mrs. Code was the sister of Mrs. Maria Glidden, formerly a resident of this city, and who died at Sheridan several months ago. Mr. Code and the relatives have the sympathy of a large number of friends here.

The following will act as pallbearers: Charles L. Patcheh, Gus Johnson, N.C. Peterson and W.W. Bower for the Elks, James Foster for the Woodmen of the World and Jacob May, Jr., for the Modern Woodman of America, Mr. Code being a member of each of the three organizations.
