George Calvin Moffitt, well known retired employee of the P.R.R. paint shop Altoona, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 1944 morning at his home, 1012 Second Street, Juniata.
He was born in Massaburg, Huntingdon county, January 30, 1869, a son of Jackson and Catherine (Brost){sic-Borst} Moffitt.
He is survived by his wife, Calnetta Prudence (Vanderender) Moffitt, two daughters Mrs. Zella Kuhn at home and Mrs. B. F. Weber, Juniata; and one son, William, Altoona; four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Edna Gilliland, Rock Springs.
He was retired from the P.R.R. five years ago after forty-seven years' service. He was a member of the First Methodist church, Juniata, for many years, a member of the official board and of the Lamberson Bible class, of the Modern Woodman, P.R.R. relief and the Retired Men's association, Juniata.
Friends may call at the family home.
Funeral services will be held at the home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge
