He was born on Dec. 20, 1932, in Mount Vernon to Herbert and Florence (Banbury) Beltz. He was a Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. A member of the VFW Post 4027 and the American Legion in Danville. He retired from Cooper Energy Service in 1993 after 14 years with the company.
He is survived by three sons, Del L. (Tracey) Beltz and William S. (Candy) Beltz, both of Howard, and Eric William (Natosha Schrienk) Beltz of Mount Vernon; four daughters, Lucy (Steve) McFadden of Danville, Billie Jo (Thomas) Patrick of Centerburg, Lauretta Beltz of Mount Vernon and Rita (Dan) Mullins of Howard; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; the mothers of his children, Breneda "Cookie" Presley of Mount Vernon and Patty A. Beltz of Howard; and three nephews, Bradley, Barron and Blake, all from Texas.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond C. Beltz.
There will be no calling hours. Graveside funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Pastor Crate Sparks officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to East Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association, 23 S. Park Place, Newark, OH 43055.
