A funeral service for Miss Hazel Lee Young, 95, of Columbia, will be held 4 o'clock, Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Dr, Columbia, with The Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 3 o'clock. Memorials may be made the Eau Claire Baptist Church, 4427 N. Main St, Columbia, SC 29203.

Miss Young died Thursday, September 15, 2011. Born in Orangeburg Co, on July 23, 1916, she was a daughter of the late James Luther and Julia Corbett Young. She was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. Miss Young retired after 42 years as a clerk with the US Dept of Agriculture.

Survivors include her sister, Mae Y. Eddins of Columbia; as well as a number of nieces and nephews, among them, Joe Sutcliffe of Blythewood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, including her sister, Istean Young of Columbia.
