Graveside services for Mary Ellen Kennedy Mills were conducted Tuesday, March 18, at the Rock Springs City Cemetery. Pastor Ron VanHee of the Grace Baptist Church officiated.
Mrs. Mills, 58, of Rock Springs died March 16 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County of a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 12, 1927 in Chadron, Neb., a daughter of Gilbert Gilson and Laura Victoria Kennedy.
She married Samuel Mills on June 29, 1946 in Chadron.
She was reared and educated in Chadron and graduated from Chadron High School. She also lived in Pueblo, Colo., prior to moving to Rock Springs seven years ago.
She worked as a housekeeper for the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for seven years and received the Employee of the Month and Year award from the hospital in 1980. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of Rock Springs; two sons and two daughters, Darrell G. Mills, Rock Springs, Samuel W. Mills, LaJunta, Colo., Mrs. Bari (Diana) Khaliki, Fort Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Smith, Palmdale, Calif. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and a brother, Earl Kennedy, Orlando, Calif., and a sister, Gladys Mills, Chadron, Neb.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
