Mrs. Louisa Anthony, aged 87 years, 9 months and 1 day, widow of the late George Anthony, passed away at her home 4 miles west and ½ mile north of Wakarusa on Sept. 15, 1934, at 3:30 o'clock Saturday morning after being bedfast seven weeks.

She was born in Pennsylvania December 14, 1846, the daughter of John and Magdalena Hahn, and came with her parents to Indiana from Ohio when a child in the early days when nearly all the land was covered with woods. They moved here with wagons and made their home with the Culp family northeast of Wakarusa until they located a homestead four miles west and one mile west of Wakarusa. They had many hardships.

On March 21, 1869, she was married to George Anthony. To them were born eight children, 3 sons and 5 daughters. The following children survive: Mrs. Nettie Fredericks, Mrs. J. O. (Ella) Loucks of Wakarusa, Charles at home, Mrs. Wm (Maggie) Ervin, Mrs. Clem (Bertha) Godshalk of Bremen; Mrs. Minnie Getz of South West. 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, Jean Rozell Eslinger, 3 ½ years old. One son, William, died in 1900., Daniel in 1921. The husband and father in 1926. She also reared Amanda and Minnie, children of William Anthony. Also cared for a brother, William Hahn in 1922, in his last sickness. She also leaves one brother, Joseph Hahn, aged 85 years.

She was a member of the Church of the Brethren for about 55 years.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon conducted by the Revs. Christian Metzler and C. A. Wright. Burial in Olive.
