From the Daily News-Record, Harrisonburg, VA, December 27, 1968:

Mrs. Bessie Mooney Putnam, 77, of Falls Church died Monday at Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.

Mrs. Putnam was born March 11, 1889 in Prince William County and was a daughter of the late G.T.C. Mooney and Dinah Innes [sic] Mooney. In 1908 she married Silas Putnam, who died in 1962.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Putnam of Mt. Jackson, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Croson of Fairfax and Mrs. Rosie Tadgett of Morrisville.

Graveside rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church by the Rev. William G. Robinson.
