John Budde left here last Tuesday (3 Sept 1895) for Wheatland ND, where he was to run an engine on the farm of E.C. Midgley. Word was received on Friday (6 Sept 1895) that the engine had exploded and blown Budde's right leg off and he received other injuries. Word came today (Thursday 12 Sept 1895) that he died at 3 o'clock this morning and the remains would be brought here for burial. It was a peculiarly sad case.
