Two More Women Die of Malady Now Epidemic in East End of Fort Wayne - No New Cases Reported

The death toll in the typhoid fever epidemic in the east side of the city was increased from 18 to 20 persons over the weekend. Mrs. Beulah A. Young, colored, aged 25, died Saturday evening at her home, 1608 Simons Street and was the nineteenth victim of the malady. Mrs. Katie Trim, aged 29, of 1720 Hayden Street, died Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Hospital, the twentieth person to succumb here to typhoid during the last few weeks.
Mrs. Young was ill with typhoid for five weeks. The immediate cause of death was pronounced by the attending physician as dilation of the heart, induced by typhoid.
She was born in Cass County, Michigan and had lived here for seven years. She was a member of the Turner A.M.E. Church, Matchless Chapter of the O.E.S., and the King's Daughters Society.
Surviving besides the husband are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Drenshaw of Cassopolis, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Young at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home and at 2:30 o'clock at turner A.M.E. Church, with the Rev. G. D. Robinson officiating. Burial in Lindenwood.
There are no new cases of typhoid reported in the city by the Board of Health.
