He returned from World War I aboard the "Walter A. Luckenbach" in March 1919 listed as Albert J. Sklolaut. He is a private in the Camp Travis Detachment, 160th Infantry.
On the "Tuscania," he listed his father, Albert "Skolant" [sic], RFD 4, San Antonio, Texas, as his next-of-kin. On the return voyage, his father's surname is spelled Sklolaut, at the same San Antonio address.
