Darl M. Felax, 79 years, 4 months, 24 days, of Rogers City passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at home. He was born April 21, 1932, in Rogers City to Henry and Edna (Schultz) Felax.
Darl was baptized 8 May 1932 by the Rev. Louis A. Linn in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rogers City. Darl's godparents were Edward Felax, Mrs. Louise Schultz.
Darl started working with the Great Lakes Fleet in 1950 and retired as Conveyorman in 1984.
On May 26, 1951, he was united in marriage at St John Lutheran Church in Hagensville with Miss Irene Kortman, daughter of Henry and Mabel (Bredow) Kortman.
Mr Felix enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and most of all camping where he would have a smile on his face the entire time.
He is survived by:

... sister-in-law, Lois Felix.
He was preceded in death by:
...2 granddaughters: Brandi Curtis in 2008 and Megan Felix in 1985;
...parents, Henry and Edna; and
...brother Chester Felix.
Visitation was held at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday, September 16th, from 3-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Visitation resumed on Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church in Rogers City from 10 a.m. through time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Schreiber officiating.
Interment took place at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial may be given to St John Lutheran Church or to Hospice of the Sunrise Shore in memory of Darl Felix.
