Constance ''Connie'' Duval Pendleton, 67, died at her residence on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000.
Ms. Pendleton was born in Norfolk to the late Ruby Powers Pendleton and Kenneth Malvin Pendleton. She was a graduate of Radford College and a retired schoolteacher, having taught for Chesapeake Public Schools for 33 years. Ms. Pendleton was an avid golfer. She was a member of Stumpy Lake Women's Golf Association, a past member of the Honey Bee Women's Golf Association and the Metro WGA.
Ms. Pendleton is survived by her sister, Patsy Beasley and her husband, W.F. Beasley Jr. of Chesapeake; a nephew, W.F. Beasley III and his wife, Victoria, of Chesapeake; a niece, Sandy Beasley Higgins and husband, Billy, of Norfolk; a great-niece, Kelly Higgins of Norfolk; and a great-nephew, Brian Higgins of Norfolk.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Moyock Cemetery with the Rev. Marshall Old officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Twiford's Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge. The family is accepting flowers or memorial donations may be made to the Chesapeake Humane Society, P.O. Box 15061, Chesapeake VA 23328.
