James F. Edgeworth, Sr., 72 years, of So. Toledo, passed from this life to his eternal home January 3, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania June 5, 1933, he was the son of Francis F. and Agnes M. Edgeworth, who preceded him in death.

Jim was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA. In 1956 he moved to Toledo, OH where he attended the University of Toledo College of Law. Since his college days he had been associated with General Motors 42 years. He had served in all aspects of the Automobile Industry from sales to general manager. He retired in December of 2003 from Dick Wilson Pontiac-Buick where he had been associated for 24 years.

Jim, a University of Toledo Alumnus, has been active with many university programs, especially the Greek system. He was instrumental in forming Pi Alpha, a chapter of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity, of which he was National president for 10 years. He presently holds the position of Director Emeritus for his fraternity. He was also a staunch supporter of university athletic programs. He was a member of the Rocket Forum and a basketball and football season ticket holder for 40 years.

Jim was a leader and organizer. He enjoyed working with people. He was associated with many organizations including St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Maumee Elks, University of Toledo Alumni Association and Bethany House.
Jim was a man of many interests. He was an avid sports fan especially cheering on the University of Notre Dame "Fighting Irish". He also had many interests and hobbies such as golfing, gardening (landscaping) winter vacationing in Florida, and taking Caribbean cruises. On Sundays he could often be found in the kitchen mixing up some new recipe for a surprise Sunday dinner. His one great unfulfilled desire was to travel to Edgworths-town in Ireland, about forty miles north of Dublin.

Jim is survived by his loving wife and care-giver, Mary. Also surviving are his children, James Jr. (Lori), Kimberly Wesley and Kristen (Damian) Nicholson. Jim was blessed with four grand-children, Alexandra and Conner Edgeworth, Aubree and Shannen Wesley. He is also survived by his nieces, Cindy (Tom) Parker and Carol (Joe) Eisley. Great nieces Nichole, Mandy, Jessica and great nephew, Robbie. Last, but not least, he leaves behind his beloved and constant companion, "TAFFY". He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Marie Spring.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 7th beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church where a Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m.

Memorials may take the form of a contribution to the church or the charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to thank all of the friends and family members for their love and support during this difficult time. A very special thanks to a rue, devoted friend, Marilyn D'Alton.
Arrangements by the Coyle Funeral Home.
