Funeral services for Elizabeth E. Hower were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 1995 at the First Congregational Church, 1275 Adams Ave., Rock Springs. The Rev. John Finster of the Union Congregational Church officiated. Interment was in the Paul J. Wataha Memorial Park in Rock Springs.

Pallbearers were Cook Hower, Mark Hower, Bob Hower, Bill Hower, Bob Clark and Dick Clark.

Mrs. Hower, 99, of 1707 Utah St., Rock Springs, died at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County where she had been a patient since Feb. 24, 1995.

A longtime resident of Rock Springs and former resident of Texas, Mrs. Hower had been in ill health for the past one year.

She was born Oct. 2, 1895 in Thurber, Texas, the daughter of the late William and Ellen Patterson Bartram. Mrs. Hower attended schools in Rock Springs and married George Hower in Canton, Ohio May 2, 1914. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, James Hower of Rock Springs and Jack Hower of Maryville, Tenn.; one daughter, Patricia Brooks of Rock Springs; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hower was preceded in death by two brothers; three sons, George, Robert and Bill Hower; and three daughters, Mary Ellen Hower, Thelma Atwood and Catherine McGovern.
