William D. Melugin, 76, died Tuesday morning in a Chickasha hospital after being ill for about 2 years. He had lived around the Tuttle community since 1920 and had farmed southeast of Tuttle until retiring a few years ago due to ill health. He had lived in Tuttle the past few years. Survivors are: his wife of the home, 5 daughters, Mrs Mattie Ottinger of Long Beach, Calif, Mrs Donnie Hawkins, Mrs Alta Deaville, & Mrs Alva Deville of Oklahoma City, & Mrs Etta Drake of Santa Paula, Calif, 4 sons, Herbert of Baytown, TX, Everett of Phoenix, Tom of Hereford,TX, Melvin of Mustang, 20 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Albert of Tuttle, & Dave of Dustin, OK, 3 sisters, Mrs Ella Coates of Tuttle, Mrs Alice Pack of Stevensville, TX, & Mrs Alpha Gilmore of Palisade, CO. Services are pending the arrival of children from California, but they will be held at the Church of Christ by Gene Fooks, with Sowers funeral home in charge.

Last rites were held for William D. Melugin, 76, Thursday at the Church of Christ, with Gene Fooks officiating. He died Feb 17 in a Chickasha hospital. Music was provided by an Acapelia choir. Pallbearers were: Kay Nickels, Claude Haywood, J.C. Stowe, J. D. Lynn, Jack Baysinger, & Elgin Tate. Burial was in the Tuttle cemetery.
