Ethel Alberta SKELTON was the daughter of David (Dove) SKELTON and Viola DeSalles SUMPTER. She was first married to Roy William WHITLOCK about 1916, in Delano, Kern Co., CA, they had at least 6 children; Aaron Trav, Zelta Vitura, Lois Alma, Alberta Nedra, Helen Viola and Neoma Jean "Doby". They also had 3 stillborn children, the last child was born after Roy died; that child's name was Johnny Ray WHITLOCK. After the death of Roy, she married Charles Henry BRIMMER, a widower, much to the dismay of both of their families. After Charles' death on 12 MAR 1951 she married Jess / Jesse "Jim" Monroe SHAFFER who died 6 JUN 1964. Jess and Ethel were married on 20 JAN 1953 in Fort Smith, AR. She did not remarry after outliving her three husbands. Ethel died from a series of heart attacks.
