FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Judge Norman C. Roettger Jr., 72, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., passed away Saturday, July 26, 2003.
Judge Roettger was born in Lucasville, Ohio.
He was a 1952 graduate of Ohio State University. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. In 1958, he graduated with his law degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. Judge Roettger moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1959, and joined the law firm of Fleming, O'Brien & Fleming. In 1972, former President Richard Nixon appointed him Federal Judge for the Southern District of Florida. Judge Roettger was a member of the Fort Lauderdale Rotary Club and the Safari Club.
Surviving are his wife, Sharyn daughter, Peggy (Christopher) Rhadigan daughter, Virginia (Thomas) Jensen two grandchildren, Leanna Jensen and John Jensen a brother, John (Karen) Roettger.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 29. Interment was in Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery.
