EDWARDSBURG -- Ileen Westfall Robbins, 78, of Yankee Street, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday (April 11, 2006) at Elkhart General Hospital, after an illness.
She was born May 8, 1927, in Edwardsburg, to Clarence Henry and Isabelle E. (Shreiner) Shetterly. She married Lewis W. Westfall on Aug. 16, 1946. He died Jan. 24, 1975. She married Loren W. Robbins in September 1987, in Edwardsburg. He died Jan. 5, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Lon Westfall of Tustin, Mich., and Alan (Grace) Westfall of Edwardsburg; two daughters, Connie (Marlin) Bowers of White Pigeon; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry (Linda) Shetterly of Baldwin, Mich.; and two sisters, Gloria (Jack) Horvath of Niles and Donna (Herb) Skatvold of Florida.
She was preceded in death by one son, L. Dean Westfall, who died March 18, 2001; and one brother, Jim Shetterly.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral service, all at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St., Edwardsburg. Pastor Troy Bowers, Mrs. Robbins' grandson, of New Beginnings Baptist Church, Cassopolis, and Pastor Rudy Grantham of Bible Baptist Church, Constantine, will officiate. Burial will be in Adamsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Robbins had lived all of her life in the Edwardsburg area and was a former bookkeeper of Edwardsburg and Calvin Lumber Companies of Edwardsburg. She was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church, was a graduate of Edwardsburg High School and attended college for one year.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, 30300 Telegraph Road, Suite 117, Bingham Farms, MI 48025.
