Truck driver Reggie Barrentine Sr., 62, of Springville died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville.

His wife, Susan Edlin Barrentine, survives. They were married on Sept. 1, 2000.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Craig Peevyhouse, pastor of Birds Creek Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Glennville (Ga.) city cemetery.

Visitation is planned from 4-7 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Born May 12, 1949, in Moultrie, Ga., he was a son of the late Luther Jefferson Barrentine and Lila Montene DeMont Barrentine.

He attended New Harmony Baptist Church. A U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the 9th regiment, 3rd Marine division. He also was a member of the National Rifle Association and drove a truck for 26 years.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter: Kimberly (Michael) Archambault of Ludowici, Ga.; one son: Michael Barrentine of Glennville; two stepdaughters: Ashley Cypret of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Deven Cypret of Paris; two stepsons: Lukus (Lisa) Edlin of Coupeville, Wash., and Nick O'Dell of Enid, Okla.;

Two sisters: Sondra Hinkle of Savannah, Ga., and Lynn Hellams of Glennville; and five grandchildren: Sean Archambault, Keaton Marker, Christian Edlin, Hayden Russell and Natalie Darst.

He also was preceded in death by a sister: Phylliss Branch; and a brother: Jerry Barrentine.
