JUNCTION CITY — A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Alvadore Christian Church for Barbara A. Bailey of Junction City, who died Sept. 10 of age-related causes. She was 81.

She was born July 2, 1930, in Rockglen, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Paul and Ivy Warfield Bloom. She married Lewis Bailey on Sept. 1, 1949, in Eugene.

She graduated from Crow High School and held a bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. She was a homemaker and professional bookkeeper, and for many decades was a schoolteacher and teacher trainer for talented and gifted children in the Eugene area.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Bonnie Ward of Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia, Canada; a son, Fred of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a brother, Veron Bloom of Crow; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Two daughters died previously: Alice Bailey on Sept. 2, 2009, and Twinette in 1951.

Burial will be at the Franklin Cemetery. Arrangements by Aurora Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene.

Remembrances to Alvadore Christian Church or Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Oregon.
