Son of Daniel Keely, mother unknown on DC, he was married, served in the Civil War, died of bowel cancer, per death certificate 102756, which gives his year of birth as 1840, and whose informant was Mrs. Tressa Sheffler of Van, PA. Buried Nov 10 1912.

In 1866 he married Juliana Campbell, born about 1845, died May 1875 in Venango County, had kids, Laura 1867, Corry 1869, Harry 1872, and Ernest 1875; then in 1877 married Sarah Ann Weaver, born Mar 27 1847 in Venango Co, died Nov 13 1916 in Rockland Twp, and had children Vella 1878, Clarence 1879, Guy 1881, Earl 1883, Ada 1885, and Marion 1890.

Franklin News-Herald, Tuesday, Nov 12 1912:
Daniel J. Keely, aged 73 years and 4 months, died at 1 o'clock on Nov. 8th of a complication of diseases at his home near Van.

His wife and the following children survive, Bert of Kenton, OH, Mrs. Amy Carnahan, Polk, Ernest and Doyle, Nickleville, Guy and Marion, Knox, Earl and Mrs. Tressa Sheffler, Van, and Mrs. Ada Sheffler, Oil City; and twenty-two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the Valley Evangelical church on Sunday afternoon by Rev. Bender. Interment in the Valley cemetery.
