Mr. Larry Gene Gilfillan age 67 of Old Loving Rd. Morganton passed away on Wednesday Sept. 7, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Gilfillan was born on May 27, 1944 in Okmulgee, OK., the son of the late Glen Gilfillan and the late Fern Townsend Gilfillan. Larry's favorite saying was "You can't turn a CPA into a cowboy". He enjoyed working with computers, horses and anything to do with numbers. After retiring from the US Navy with over twenty years of service he became a CPA. Larry was a member of the Tri County Equine and the Backwoods Horseman of North GA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Connor Gilfillan.

Surviving Larry are his loving wife of forty four years, V. Sue Gilfillan of Morganton, one son and daughter in law, Michael and Nancy Gilfillan of Alpharetta, GA., one daughter and son in law, Kara and Jordan Behar of Clearwater Beach, FL., one sister and brother in law, Glenda and Pete Donate of Sacramento, CA., six grandchildren, Calvin, Audrey and Garrett Gilfillan, Asher, Josephine and Levi Behar, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday Sept. 10, 2011 from the Mountain View Cemetery in Encampment, WY.
