Lena was a native of Treutlen County, residing in Mt. Vernon most of her life, moving to Vidalia recenty. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Brewton-Parker College in 1989. She was office manager of Cardiology Associates of Vidalia for the past 17 years and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband her husband, John W. Kennedy of Vidalia; one son and daughter-in-law Paul & Lillian Thigpen of Vidalia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and James Bullard of Collins and Dianne and Terry NeeSmith of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Nelson Thigpen of Vidalia, Kesley Curl, Warren Bullard and Bishop Bullard, all of Collins; two sisters, Annie Davies of Alamo and Lillie Nugent of Macon; six brothers, Tifton LUmley of the Atlanta area, Walton Lumley of Dublin, Bill Lumley of Barnesville, Tommy Lumley of Dublin, Raymond Lumley of Nashville, TN, and James Lumley of Dublin. Funeral services were held Friday, August 10, 2004 at 9:00 am from Tabernacle Baptist Church of Vidalia with interment at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Family Funeral Service of Vidalia is in charge of funeral arrangements.
