Thomas James was son of William Green and Julia Anne Fitzsimmons. He was retired from Loucks Heating and Fuel Co. and also the New Jersey State Museum. Thomas was an Army veteran of World War I, received his training at Camp McClellan, Alabama. He was a member of Company K, 114th Infantry, 29th Division and was wounded at Argonne Woods, France. (Meuse-Argonne offensive). He returned to the U.S. in 1919 on the military transport Powhatan. James and Elizabeth had one son Thomas James Jr. in 1925.
