There appears to have been some confusion by several family genealogist as to the birth year of Hattie Norman. The (somewhat grainy) picture of Hattie's marker appears to show birth year as "1865". Looking a the "5" on the marker, the top is flat, as compared to the top of the "6" which curls down on the right. Assuming the marker is correct, I would give birth date as "APRIL 9, 1865".

Note, also, that "Hattie" is a diminutive of "Harriet", which was her given name.
