Mr. Baird was a building contractor for many years in the Port Arthur area. He built a house in one day using prefab materials. The house was located at 12th Street and DeQueen Blvd. The house was still standing in 1993. Mr. Baird and his wife Ellie Eliza Turner Baird had three sons, Jack Harvey Baird, David Turner Baird, and Holcomb Walker Baird, Jr.
