Anamosa, Ia. – Services for John A. Belknap, 84, who died Wednesday at his home here, were Friday afternoon at the Goettsch Funeral Home with Burial in Riverside Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 23, 1865, in Jones County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Belknap. He was a graduate of Anamosa High School and attended Cornell College and a business school in Davenport. He was at one time engaged in a manufacturing business. On May, 18, 1893, he married Sylvia Jones. He was a member of the Anamosa Lodge No. 46, AF&AM and a member of the Eli Kahir Shrine Temple. He was also a member of the Methodist Church and a former chairman and treasurer of the Jones County Republican committee.
He is survived by his wife. Two daughters preceded him.
